formed in 1997, Strictempo comprise husband and wife Steve and Pauline Trigg
and friend Darren Howell. With over 70 years’
performing experience between them and a highly professional attitude they
have the ability to play many different musical styles from subtle background
music to the latest chart hits. Their
popularity has gone from strength to strength and led them to playing at
major venues throughout England and Wales. Introducing:
Pauline is a highly
accomplished vocalist who is able to cover a wide range of musical styles
from light jazz to disco classics.
Pauline’s musical tastes are extremely diverse and this is reflected
in her wide-ranging repertoire. A
perfectionist by nature Pauline spends many hours each week working on
material and as musical director preparing the programmes for each show.
An extremely experienced
performer, Steve has an impressive c.v.
His career has included spells with some of the country’s top jazz
bands including “The Steve King Big Band”, “Blues 21 Big Band” and “The
Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra”. He has
appeared at many of the top dance halls and jazz clubs throughout the UK and
Europe and performed on shows with Kenny Baker, George Chisholm, Kathy
Stobart & Kenny Ball.
Darren joined the trio in
2006 following stints with various bands on the Midlands circuit. After serving his apprenticeship playing
keyboards in pubs and clubs he joined popular soul band Bravura. He later collaborated with Andy and Mandy
Harris in “The Jolly Beggars” playing Irish folk music. Following a brief stint in pop covers band
“Airplay” he joined Strictempo. Helen Bolton The fourth member, Helen
has produced and maintains the Strictempo website. She is an avid music fan with an encyclopaedic knowledge of music
and often tracks down the more obscure requests for songs that we
receive. All pictures on the website
(except those credited to Tim Herbert photography) have been taken by Helen.
